ChatGPT prompts for powerlifting: context, review and limits

Momentum Coach ยท

A useful powerlifting prompt describes a specific situation, provides relevant records and asks for an answer you can check. It can organize a review; it does not turn a chatbot into a coach familiar with your situation.

Complete the brackets in these three templates. Avoid personal or medical information that the task does not need.

1. Review a block before starting

I have trained powerlifting for [time]. I can train [days]
for [minutes] per session. My goal is [goal].
My recent squat, bench and deadlift work is [summary].
Here is the block I am considering: [program].

Summarize frequency, sets and effort for each lift.
Identify changes from my recent work and missing information.
Do not invent my maxes or volume tolerance.
Separate observations from assumptions I need to check.

Count the sets yourself and check for omitted variations or duplicated days. A convincing explanation does not establish suitability. Practice with our four-day example.

2. Review three comparable sessions

Here are my last three sessions of [exercise and variation]:
[weight, sets, reps, RPE and rest].
The target was [prescription]. This context changed: [changes].

Separate what the data show from what cannot be concluded.
What should I check before changing load or volume?
Offer options that change one variable at a time.
State what I would observe next session to evaluate them.

Verify calculations and comparisons. If one session used a pause and another did not, mention it: they may not be equivalent. Do not accept a fatigue or injury diagnosis from a few numbers. Our self-coached guide provides a manual review process.

3. Reorganize an interrupted week

My program is [schedule]. This week I completed [sessions]
and missed [sessions]. I still have [days and time] available.
My next meet is [date or none].

Explain options to resume without automatically accumulating
all missed sets. Identify missing information.
Do not assume I should retain loads if effort changes.

Compare the answer with our return-to-training guide. Missing a session does not require completing all of it the next day.

What to do with the answer

Record your chosen decision and the reason alongside the training log, then review the result. Requesting a new answer every day without keeping context can make evaluation harder than following a simple consistent rule.

If studies are cited, open the sources and check that they address the specific claim. A review of autoregulation does not validate an exact program.

Where Momentum fits

Momentum keeps blocks, sessions and history together. Coachy offers assistance within that workflow; suggestions still need checking against experience and records. Our aim is to make review easier, not remove your responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Should I request a full program or a specific review?

A focused question is easier to check. For a full program, review goals, availability, effort and progression separately.

Does a long prompt guarantee correctness?

No. Context can clarify the task, but claims, calculations and assumptions still need review.

What about pain or a limitation I do not understand?

Do not use these templates for diagnosis or treatment. Seek appropriate professional assessment.
